Updated Articles & Content A lot has changed since the original articles were written for this site--and the professional research community has discovered many things about avian health and behavior.  Products have come and gone--yet the needs remain the same.  The basic information that was shared with the birdkeeping public has remained constant.  Given this, the original articles of the Birds & Lighting Website have been updated with the latest product information and recommendations. Add to this new content and reader feedback, and we have a super resource site for you and your birds!
A New Face and Direction It all began in January, 1999 with a simple HTML website.  Since then, the Birds & Lighting Website has been visited by nearly 3 million guests looking for answers--and has become the only authoritive resource in the world on the subject of avicultural lighting and full spectrum lighting practice.  Changes in internet service providers in late 2000 eliminated the ability to edit or add material.  After a decade and improvements in how we understand our birds and product development, this resource now breaks free of its old chains and steps forward to meet the needs of a new era of avicultural practice.
